My trusty laptop, an Inspiron 2650, has developed a stress crack at the left hinge. It's a part fo the case that gets torqued when opening/closing and I can see the crack contract/expand during those actions. I already tried to fix it, with 5-minute epoxy and a strip of polyester fabic for fiber reinforcement, but the epoxy didn't adhere well to the plastic of the case.
Screencasting tool for mac. Now I'm thinking about a two-step fix: superglue in the crack, then roughing up the surface of the case something nasty and trying epoxy again. Anyone have experience/pointers with something like this?
