Combat Order greatly benefits Hero especially because of extra%final damage on each combo orb. My hero can get 100% crit rate without potential, soul weap or legion, because of my Lv3 phantom link skill, Lv2 BT link, Lv200 MM and Lv140+ NL, 16% crit rate as second line on IA, max Hyper stat crit rate and dSE. Say Double Shot does 130% of your damage range per shot (and obviously shoots twice). If critical adds 100%, a double critical would do 230% + 230% or 460% total. If critical multiplies by 200%, a double critical would do 260% + 260% or 520% total. Hence the old system (additive) favors weak rapid attacks as they all get the same static.

The Corsair job is a Pirate Explorer Class that wields guns and bullets to take down their enemies. Pirate was the first new class to be added to the game after the original release of MapleStory, add two new job paths for players to take including Corsair. Corsair's home town is Nautilus, a giant boat that players can explore and is often featured in other storylines.

Boss dmg is always good so is crit dmg. Resistance is now USELESS after 50 points of resistance, I belive after the V Patch the duration of effects is reduced by 50%, anything afterwards, for ever 5 points of resistance your duration is reduced by 1%, rendered useless. Jett does not receive many changes and is neglected by Nexon much like Beast Tamer. In terms of speaking just about pre-200 Jett, they have skills like Space Walk that allows them to easily jump from one side of the map to the other and Vortex Cross which allows them to dash both horizontally and vertically.

Corsair Overview

When the two pirate classes were released, they were split into two types: Corsair is the more ranged of the classes and the Buccaneer is a melee type class. This doesn't matter too much as the current meta of MapleStory does away with range for the most part. Corsair use their fire skills to deal single target damage, much like a Nightlord's throwing star ability. Similarly, Corsair also have their own Shadow Partner skill called Majestic Presence; which doubles the amount of attacks you do. As a Corsair you also get access to quite a few summons that can aid you in map control and training. They have decent mobbing potential all the way through to 4th job, with their main attack being Eight-Legs Easton.

Bossing with Corsair relies on you up-keeping your summons called Broadside. They received a decent boost in the Awake update to help balance their skills to be less inconvenient to manage and keep consistent damage. They can easily contribute good damage to end-game bosses as long as management of the summons is good, since they can deal a third of your overall damage.

MapleStory Explorer Classes can switch between jobs once they are level 101+. For example, a Dark Knight can job change to a Paladin. They can only job change to characters within their class branch (i.e. archers to archers, thiefs to thiefs etc). You cannot job change a Dark Knight to a Bishop.

To do job change, you can either pay mesos or use a Job Advancement Coin (which is usually given out during events). Speak to your 4th job advancement NPC in Leafre to job change.

Even though, as a Corsair, you'll be using bullets/guns for attacking, in first job you want to use Sommersault Kick as you main attacking skill because it has better mobbing than Double Shot, thus allowing you to train faster. You get some decent passives with Shadow Heart increasing your Critical Rate and Damage early on. Max also Octopush for mobility around maps.

Your new main mobbing and attacking skill is Rapid Blast. It can hit up to 6 enemies at a time, which is great for a second job skill. Get your Gun Booster skill to level 6 as soon as possible for faster attack speed. Wings allows you to launch yourself across the map, making for easier travel. You also get Scurvy Summons, which is a skill you don't need to level up and will attack randomly around the map for you.

With third job you get a new main attacking skill called Blunderbuster. It hits a lot harder than your second job skill and can hit up to 8 enemies max. Roll of the Dice is a buff you need to get used to; randomly gives you some good boosts, and it gets better in other jobs. Octo-cannon is a summon you can place down to help control other sides of the map; Blackboot Bill is a secondary attack skill that you won't use very much so best to max it last.

  • Nautilus Strike (MAX)
  • QuickDraw (MAX)

Eight-Legs Easton is your main mobbing skill going forward, hitting 8 enemies and dealing 4 lines of damage. The skill is so good, it doesn't even have any Hyper Skills to boost it. When bossing, you'll want to use Parrotargetting to increase your damage on the target; Rapid Fire is your main single attack skill. Majestic Presence acts like Shadow Partner, giving you more attacks at a slightly decreased damage rate. Making sure you use Nautilus Strike is also important as it increases damage of Majestic Presence and also cuts cooldown of your Scurvy Summons/Broadside.

NOTICE: As of November 30, 2016 (GMS v178 - Limitless), the visual damage range cap has been raised to 99,999,999. The primary motivation behind the creation of this tool was to enable accurate computation of damage ranges beyond 2m~2m. Thus, this damage calculator is essentially obsolete, except in the following situations: (1) players are able to surpass 99,999,999 damage range, and (2) for players who wish to calculate damage ranges based on hypothetical upgrades or downgrades in equipment, skills, and/or stats. In addition, final damage is now included in the damage range calculation; if your class has a skill that gives final damage, you should fill in your % FINAL DMG in the designated box.

A common misconception in MapleStory is that the maximum damage range is 2m~2m. While this is the maximum displayed damage range, there is no bound on the actual damage range. The creation of this tool was motivated by this fact, and is intended to allow funded players to monitor the effects of their upgrades after 2m~2m range. As such, this calculator is optimized for high-level players. In particular, it is assumed that the character has maxed out all mastery and relevant passive skills all the way through 4th job.

It is recommended that you watch the tutorial video before using the calculator.

Having trouble? If you have watched the tutorial video and double checked all of your inputs and are still not getting an accurate result, or if you think the calculator is not functioning properly, please report your issue(s) here. You may also leave any comments or suggestions using that link.
